Bonsai, the art of dwarfing trees. To the novice, this is the conclusion rendered. Actually there is a more in-depth analysis of this art. First started in China, then redefined in Japan, bonsai has swept across to most of the world today.

Most people know the name, but not the art. As well, many are called, but few are chosen. This is not an art of hurry, rather of time. Do not be mislead into believing that this is a passing phase, rather it is a lifetime of commitment to truly understand the art of bonsai. For many, including myself, there is a mystique that transcends the temples and hillsides of Japan.

What will be presented on the following pages will be information that belongs not only to the beginner, but to the experienced bonsai enthusiast as well.

We will cover basic care, soil, planting, tools, and other topics that will help you grow and keep your trees healthy.
